Metaplanet, a Japanese investment firm, has increased its bitcoin holdings to 10,000 BTC after acquiring an additional 1,112 coins.
This purchase elevates Metaplanet past , which holds approximately 9,267 BTC, making it the seventh-largest publicly traded company with bitcoin reserves.
The total investment for this acquisition was around 16.88 billion Japanese yen ($117 million), reflecting an average purchase of about $96,400 per bitcoin.
The firm’s aggressive bitcoin accumulation strategy comes amid broader institutional interest and volatility, highlighting the growing role of corporate treasuries in crypto adoption.
